Chauffeurs Work for Stars and Limo Hire Essex

Good chauffeurs are heavily in demand as limousines and limo hire become increasingly popular with everyone for every type of occasion. Chauffeurs are therefore facing a choice between working exclusively for a limo hire company, or working as a private chauffeur to service the limousine needs of a particular business or individual.

As with most things, the decision is plagued by the issues of salary, but this is not the only consideration for limousine chauffeurs looking to practice their craft. For example, working as a private chauffeur for a management company or the like, a chauffeur will be well compensated as they will be expected to work irregular hours and often a lot of overtime to cater for the company’s employees and functions.

Working as a private chauffeur however, the particular company has exclusive rights to you and you work when they need you, regardless. Working as a private chauffeur you will most likely be simply paid a salary, regardless of the hours you work each week. One week might be more, the next might be less but overall they generally balance out. Also, working in a salary position, you will get paid holidays during which you won’t be bothered by your employer and can come back when you’re ready.

However, being at the beck and call of your private employer can be gruelling too. Your employer has obviously hired a private chauffeur as they have a busy schedule and need a driver they can rely on to get them where they need to go. Therefore, the chauffeur has to keep up with this busy lifestyle, but instead of being able to sleep or watch a DVD in the back of their limo as their employer does, they are the ones driving the limo and have to grab rest where they can. This is part of the reason they are paid so well.

Being a private chauffeur is a very personal choice and it is a very personal job. The chauffeur must consider whether they will be compatible with their employer and whether rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous and enjoying their lifestyle will make up for all the time they spend on the road and on call.
